Tell us about your book?
It’s a very personal journey of my own favourite vintage and modern designers and their iconic pieces.
Beginning as far back as the Copper age I give an account of the History of Costume before launching into Vintage, Retro and modern pieces.
Full of interesting facts, tips, and other collector’s stories on their fashion memories and bargain finds the book covers pretty much every aspect that a dedicated collecting fashionista needs.
Why did you decide to write about this subject?
I love fashion and adore clothes! There are so many look books, and basic collecting guides on fashion but nothing that really goes as in depth as mine and no-one has touched on the subject of contemporary fashion collecting which is my passion – so though lets just do it.
What do you love most about writing?
From 8 years old I have always dreamt of being a writer. It’s a way of expressing my knowledge, passions and words that I can share with people all around the globe. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than knowing that I am creating something that can give pleasure to other people and also in turn they too can learn from me.
Finish this sentence…I wish I’d written…?
A bestselling novel. This is my dream to one day write fiction. I love the non-fiction but the appeal of writing a novel where I can really escape into my characters is something I am desperate to do. One day I will fulfil this ambition.
You have the opportunity to meet any author past or present who would it be and why?
Gosh there are so many but if I had to choose it would be Beatrix Potter or the Bronte Sisters. Such strong and talented women whose passion for writing paved the way for women’s role in society. Each knew what they wanted to do and against the odds achieved their aspirations.
