My Favourite Things...

Heather Marie

1940s and 1950s – When I decided to go semi-professional as a singer, I wanted to include 1950s music as this is what I had grown up listening to. As soon as I heard 1940s music I fell in love with this era also, and after researching all of the music and fashions I knew that this was something I had to pursue.

When You Wish Upon A Star – As a big Disney fan this song also fits in with my love of the 1940s era because it’s from 1939.

Basil Rathbone / Doris Day – I love black and white films and Basil Rathbone has to be my most favourite Sherlock Holmes.

I also love Doris Day especially in Young at Heart; this film stars another one of my favourite actors – Frank Sinatra.

Chicago / Hairspray / The Artist - I absolutely adore the score from Chicago and Hairspray, both different in their own right but sassy.

I was lucky enough to see Chicago on Broadway which was fantastic. I have obviously only recently seen The Artist but as I said I am a huge fan of black and white films and this just epitomises the era for me.

TV Show

Pan Am / New Girl – I was so upset when I found out Pan Am wouldn’t be returning for a second season, I love all of the fashions from the 60s and the glamour of Pan Am.

I adore New Girl as I can really relate to Jess! She is funny and quirky which I think I am a little bit. That show really makes me laugh out loud!

Heather will be running the Virgin London Marathon (21st April 2013) for the RAF Wings Appeal supporting our heroes and their families.
