My Favourite Things
The Haywood Sisters
Meet Georgi Wooderson, Kathryn Ryan and Emily Matthews aka The Haywood Sisters.
These gals have just returned from performing in Hong Kong and they hope to perform there again in the future.
We sing songs from the 1920s all the way through to the 1960s. We love The Boswell Sisters from the 20s and 30s, The Andrews Sisters in the 1940s, The Maguire Sisters in the 50s and The Ronettes, The Shirelles and The Supremes in the 1960s.
We can’t decide on just one, so we’ve narrowed it down to three!
“Rex and His Sound Effects” from 1935, performed by The Three X Sisters.
It’s brilliant! We think we’re the only people to perform it for 80 years. It’s on our CD.
“I’ll Be With You in Apple Blossom Time.” The Andrews Sisters do an amazing version of this. The harmonies are beautiful.
“Sugartime” by The McGuire Sisters. This is our favourite song to perform. It always puts a smile on our faces!
We’ve been researching the 1920s as we’ve just put together a Great Gatsby style set. Clara Bow had a fascinating life and career. She did so much before the age of 28!
It’s got to be Singin’ in the Rain. The film and the West End musical version. In both, the three leads were fantastic.
We love the fashion, style and glamour of Mad Men, The Hour and Pan Am.
Be sure to check out their first album, "It Takes Three Girls”
