In celebration of the legacy of the BBC’s most popular sitcoms, BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four will revisit their most iconic comedies, Are You Being Served, Goodnight Sweetheart, Porridge and Young Hyacinth a prequel to Keeping Up Appearances.

Are You Being Served

It’s 1988 and Grace Brothers is open for business. Some of the old characters like Mr Humphries, Captain Peacock, Mr Rumbold, Mr Grainger, Miss Brahms and Mrs Slocombe, are still there, however they are now played by new actors. New members to the staff include Mr Conway, Young Mr Grace, the original Young Mr Grace's grandson and Miss Croft.

Young Hyacinth

Roy Clarke, the original creator has written a one-off prequel to Keeping Up Appearances, to be set in the 1950s. Hyacinth takes charge of Daddy, her sisters Daisy, Violet and Rose after their mother leaves them to cope on their own.
